Ta Hita – For Us

CHamoru Language Program

Launched in 2011, Ta Hita CHamoru Language Program – Ta håtsa i tinigo’ antigu (to uplift the ancient knowledge) was created by the Kutturan CHamoru Foundation to ensure the survival and growth of the CHamoru language for future generations. In the belief that language is the heart of cultural identity, Ta Hita provides a space where participants can learn, practice, and celebrate the richness of the CHamoru language. Through structured lessons, interactive activities, and cultural integration, the program empowers learners to connect deeply with their heritage while strengthening the foundation of CHamoru identity in the continental United States.

Ta Hita is a cultural movement dedicated to preservation and revitalization. Participants gain not only language skills but also an understanding of CHamoru traditions, values, and worldview.
